Another A&E and a Bird in Bough

Since my last stitching post I've been able to complete The Scarlett House - Adam & Eve. I love all those lovely red alphabets and the bird that accompanies Adam and Eve.

Adam & Eve - The Scarlett House

My plan after finishing Emma Miles was to work on one of the Scarlet Letter WIPs. Well... that didn't happen. Once I saw Bird in Bough on Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year I knew I had to stitch it for myself ASAP. BiB is stitched on 36 ct. Vintage Pecan Butter by Lakeside Linens with a variety of silks.

Bird in Bough - The Scarlet Letter
Don't you love the bird? I think you'll have noticed by now that I'm attracted to samplers that include birds. I'm in the process of creating a 'bird' sampler wall in my sewing room. Of course I'm not quite sure that Emma and Owen consider the room to be a sewing room as their kennel and toys now occupy the majority of the space in what was my sewing room.
We survived the major ice storm that hit our area yesterday. Unfortunately the streets, sidewalks and driveways are still a sheet of ice and another storm is heading our way tonight. The poor pups are begining to suffer from cabin fever. Today is the second day of limited outdoor time and no long walk. Let's hope this all passes soon and we can get back to our normal routine.
A dear friend sent me a surprise gift the other day. Isn't it just perfect for Corgi Cottage?
Until next time....

Laurie

What beautiful samplers! You finished Tanya's A&E so quickly, and it is gorgeous. Love the Bird in Bough sampler, too. Maybe it's a good thing that E&O like to chase squirrels more than birds--or so I hope! ;) Lovely gift, too! I laughed at the corgi saying. Too cute!

Your samplers are beautiful Laurie! I too love samplers with birds in them...which really is no surprise because the birds I feed bring me such joy as well...winks...Love the Corgi saying and my yellow lab Molly sends her sympathies to Emma and Owen...she has been house bound too because of rain. Every time I sit in my stitching chair she looks at me with her big brown eyes...are you sure mom we can't go out for a nice long walk? Gotta love the guilt! Happy Stitching.

Wonderful finishes Laurie. Hopefully the pups won't notice the bird wall in your sewing room.

We are having that weather today and it's a mess - schools closed etc. Not good on another storm coming your way.

What a beautiful finish of A&E. It's on my list, too. Bird in the Bough IS quite striking! Keep your needles flying and your feet firmly on the ground :-)

Laurie -- Gorgeous finishes! I especially like the Bird finish. I may have to order that one:) (LOL)

Hope your pups are able to go for a walk soon. We had that storm yesterday but fortunately it's all melted and we're supposed to have a high of 60 tomorrow:)

Have a good week.

Love, love, love your latest finish. You are one quick stitch there !! Tanya does such a beautiful job of designing doesn't she. This A&E piece is a favorite. And who would love Birds in the Bough? I love animals in samplers...be it birds, bees, cats, dogs, sheep, cows....you get the idea. Enjoy the stitching time and I sure hope you and the pups get out soon for a longer walk. Enjoy the week !!

Such a beautiful sampler, Laurie! I find myself really attracted to the color "red" this year!!! I'm sure Emma and Owen won't mind you decorating their kennel with such beautiful samplers. Hope they get to go on a long walk sooner rather than later.

Wonderful, your samplers. And yes, birds on a chart attract me, too, and they are nearly a must for me. This year I want to stitch cardinals and I'm just pulling out patterns that have cardinals.
