Another A&E and a Bird in Bough

Since my last stitching post I've been able to complete The Scarlett House - Adam & Eve. I love all those lovely red alphabets and the bird that accompanies Adam and Eve.

Adam & Eve - The Scarlett House

My plan after finishing Emma Miles was to work on one of the Scarlet Letter WIPs. Well... that didn't happen. Once I saw Bird in Bough on Nicola's Scarlet Letter Year I knew I had to stitch it for myself ASAP. BiB is stitched on 36 ct. Vintage Pecan Butter by Lakeside Linens with a variety of silks.

Don't you love the bird? I think you'll have noticed by now that I'm attracted to samplers that include birds. I'm in the process of creating a 'bird' sampler wall in my sewing room. Of course I'm not quite sure that Emma and Owen consider the room to be a sewing room as their kennel and toys now occupy the majority of the space in what was my sewing room.
We survived the major ice storm that hit our area yesterday. Unfortunately the streets, sidewalks and driveways are still a sheet of ice and another storm is heading our way tonight. The poor pups are begining to suffer from cabin fever. Today is the second day of limited outdoor time and no long walk. Let's hope this all passes soon and we can get back to our normal routine.
A dear friend sent me a surprise gift the other day. Isn't it just perfect for Corgi Cottage?
Until next time....

(this moment)

{this moment} - A Friday ritual. A single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

A Finish on the Fifth Day of the New Year

I had set myself a deadline of December 31st to finish Emma Miles and it didn't happen. It took me until the 5th day of the New Year before I could call Emma done. I love this sampler!

I was planning on both a Christmas Day and a New Year's Day start but that didn't quite work out. So I'll call my Adam and Eve start the Holiday 2012 new start. I love the red that Tanya choose for the alphabets.

I've added a Linen for Sale page which can be found under the header. I may just have that perfect piece of linen you need for one of your 2013 stitching projects.

There are two great opportunities that I wouldn't want you to miss. First up is Nicola's generous giveaway of the Blue Ribbon Sampler chart. Read about it on her blog post, Stitching by a Cornish Sea Shore.

In May of 2012 I began my journey into 17th Century Embroidery and the designing and making of my own casket. Tricia Wilson Nguyen of Thistle Threads began her on-line univerisity course, Cabinet of Curiosities. I cannot say enough good things about this course. It is by far the best needlework course I have ever had the opportunity to take. If you missed out on the being part of the original class Tricia has opened up registration for the Encore class. Read all about it on her blog . I hope you'll consider registering for the course. I doubt that you will regret making that decision.

I love Corgi bellies.
